Wow, now this was a fun suspense book! I’ve been eagerly waiting for this book and it didn’t disappoint.

Grace Callahan has a secret to die for, only she doesn’t know it. This book immediately starts with action as Grace is trying to get out of her house, realizing that she isn’t alone. There is a lot of action and different events that happen throughout the book. The story unfolds in only a couple days, and I think I would have enjoyed it better if it had slowed down some and taken a little more

Wow! Another wild ride from Lisa Harris.

As soon as I saw that this book features a character dealing with PTSD, I knew I wanted to read it. Detective Nate Quinn is still dealing with the psychological aftereffects of a bombing that killed 18 people, including his partner. From the first chapter, I loved reading Nate's story and his struggles with faith following such a traumatic event. Harris did a great job depicting this subject in a way that was heart-wrenchingly realistic.
I also loved Grac

A Secret to Die For has a lot of action, a whole lot of action in the first half of the novel. While the action continues in the second half, there is a bit more focus on the blooming romance between Grace and Nate in the latter half.

I liked that Grace wasn't a widow, but rather divorced after a tragic event rocked her marriage. Young widows are used rather frequently by authors. I found the premise of a group trying to take down a power grid in the United States completely plausible. Loved that

Once I turned the first page I was gone, be ready for a fast-paced action packed read. You will never see most of what happens coming, and yet it is one of those being at the right place at the right time happenings.
The author does a wonderful job of keeping your attention, from beginning to end, and the title sure pulled me in, and you will quickly know how the title applies, and when you learn what is happening it could be so true.
There is a bit of sweet romance, not knowing what you’re lookin

This book was fast-paced. I was hooked from the beginning of it. I can tell you it kept me awake many evenings because I didn't want to put it down!

Grace is dealing with some of her own issues when she learns one her clients was murdered. I didn't expect this book to have developed the characters so deeply. I also didn't expect the book to show how the characters deal with their traumatic pasts.

I really enjoyed this book. I'm hoping it's part of a series so that I can catch up with these charact

The main character, Grace, is a psychologist who had a client she was convinced was dealing with paranoia. When he is found dead, there is a business card found in the deceased man’s pocket. Just when Grace has found a place in her life to start fresh, that is shattered. On top of that, the detective asking questions is a man who had been her ex-husband’s friend.

Lisa Harris certainly knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat! From the very first sentence to the very last I was completely sucked into this story! It almost felt like an episode of a crime show (which I love) but with a deeper look into everything.
Grace and Nate had a bit of a unique relationship. They had known each other in college when Nate’s best friend was dating Grace but they’d lost touch. Now they meet again under very crazy circumstances. I really appreciated how the author ha

This is a wonderful book filled with suspense and romance. There are a lot of twists and turns. Grace and Nate become reunited after losing touch after college. Nate must protect Grace after she helps one of her patients. I really love this author and her stories. I received a copy of this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Recommends it for: Inspriation Romanctic Suspense lovers!
A sharp clatter jerked Grace Callahan out of the novel she was reading. She dropped the paperback onto the empty side of the queen-sized bed, then sat up, trying to determine if the noise had come from inside the house, or outside. More than likely it was her neighbor’s dog again, knocking something over. Or maybe she’d simply imagined it.
She glanced at the book’s ominous cover. Next time she should stick to reading something less…intense when trying to go to sleep.

I have mixed feelings about this novel of romantic suspense. Harris is a capable author and the novel has good scenes of suspense and romantic tension. I did have some issues with the way the plot developed.

One thing I can't tolerate is suspense due to poor police procedure. It happened twice in this novel. An attempt had been made on Gracie and she is obviously a target of the bad guys. Shortly afterward, police detective Nate takes her to a location all by himself. Of course they are attacked

This was an interesting Christian "romantic suspense" novel, but I didn't enjoy it as much as other novels I've read in this genre by other authors. There was a good amount of action in the novel, but there was also a great deal of long conversations between the characters and a lot of internal dialogue taking place in the minds of the two main characters, which not only affected the pacing of the novel--making it feel that the intense events happened over a longer period of time than they did-- ...more

When she discovers that a murdered client left her clues to stopping a terrorist attack, she's determined to feel useful by helping, even if it's dangerous.

A Secret to Die for, by Lisa Harris, is a stand alone modern day romantic thriller. Grace is preparing herself to get through the week, the birthday of her little girl who died of cancer. To make it even worse, some one breaks into her home, breaks into her office and one of her patients is killed. His murderers are after her, thinking she has the information they want.
Nate was best friends with Grace and her ex-husband years earlier. He is now the detective assigned to the case. He has just re

This story was full of action and adventure. The characters are in a race against time as they try to save themselves and the country from being destroyed.

The action scenes were interesting but I found them to be a bit too much after a while. At times the situations seemed unrealistic. I also found (in this book and many other romantic suspense Christian fiction books) that even when their lives are in danger and they are running from people who want to kill them, the characters are focusing on

Lisa Harris is on my short list of must-read suspense authors, and she nails it again with her newest release. Beginning with the heart-in-the-throat opening and continuing through the final sentence, A Secret to Die For riveted my attention. High stakes and non-stop action make the pages fairly crackle with tension, and the plot is all too believable in today's high-tech world. Harris adds the perfect touch of romance, upping the angst and weaving in poignant moments that make the heart pound f ...more

Another suspenseful crime drama full of action! A psychologist becomes a target when one of her clients ends up murdered. A former friend whose first day back on the job becomes her ally as they chase the clues and the plot expands to an FBI investigation.

A Secret to Die For by Lisa Harris was a well done nailbiter!

This excellent suspense novel kept me turning pages into the night.

Nate Quinn, homicide detective and Grace Callahan, psychologist, were friends in college. Each has experienced heartache and are trying to find their way back to normal. They re-connect after many years on a case that Nate is working. However, Grace is not a consultant but is connected to the victim, Stephen Shaw. I’m a fan of Lisa Harris! She consistently delivers non-stop action, a bit of romance, and real (often hurting) characters in each of her stories. A Secret to Die For is no exception.

Grace Callahan is finding her footing again after a tragedy and the subsequent fallout. Nick Quinn is back at work after surviving a hotel bombing in Dallas. When circumstances bring these two college friends together again, they race to find answers and thwart a catastrophe.

Harris writes the perfect combinations of suspense and romantic interest. She includes just the right amount of intrigue between leading characters to satisfy my need for romance in all books.

I was really impressed with Gracie in this book. I love strong female leads and she was just that. She has such a clear head and is quite good at being a step ahead of everyone else. I also loved Nate. He is my favorite type of hero. He is strong, but also patient. I was really impressed with his clear thin

This book is a solid 4 & 1/2 stars for me. I enjoyed getting to know Grace and Nate and their struggles and heartaches. Their losses and how they dealt with them spoke to me on a personal level as I have dealt with the deaths of two of my best friends, so that was an aspect of the book that I liked a lot. I was in the mood for a romantic suspense. Which this book is one. Yet, I thought the chemistry that Grace and Nate had was "medium". There is nothing wrong with "medium" but I was looking and hoping for "spicy". However, as this book is published by a Christian publisher, I can understand the heat level. On the bright side, this book is not preachy in regards to the word of God.

The story started out good. It had a intense scene. From there the next several chapters were still riding the high f
